About Rist Transformatorenbau GmbH

The Rist family business was founded more than 70 years ago in Ostfildern, just a few kilometers from the metropolis of Stuttgart, as a medium-sized company. Then as now, we are committed to the principle of guaranteeing high-quality products through careful production and constant quality control. Strict compliance with applicable safety regulations and manufacturing standards is one of the ways in which we achieve this goal.

We use state-of-the-art machinery and equipment, which is a decisive success factor in achieving our corporate goals.

Responding quickly and flexibly to customer requests is our understanding of partnership-based cooperation and the basis for trust. Therefore, the fastest possible delivery of our products has top priority. This is precisely why Rist is a long-standing and reliable partner to a wide range of industries. Whether in mechanical engineering, in particular textile machinery, vehicle construction, medical technology or communications technology, winding products from Rist are in demand and well received!

However, the most important prerequisite for the success of our company was and is the qualification of our employees. This is where our constant efforts are directed. The level of qualification achieved in each case is maintained and improved, for example, through ongoing internal and external training measures.

Group of companies

In January 2025, Rist Transformatorenbau GmbH will become part of ktc GmbH, based in Straubenhardt. This merger brings together two long-established companies with a high level of technical expertise in the field of transformer construction – for a joint, strong future.

ktc GmbH was founded in 1999, employs around 50 people and has established itself over two decades as a manufacturer of high-quality transformers for a wide range of applications. With the integration of Rist, ktc GmbH is strengthening its portfolio specifically in the area of customer-specific transformer technologies.

For Rist, this step represents a sustainable development. Our many years of experience, established customer relationships and high level of vertical integration complement each other perfectly with the innovative strength and dynamism of ktc GmbH. Together, we combine our strengths in development, design, production and service – creating additional capacities and new perspectives.

Under the umbrella of ktc GmbH, we will continue to focus on quality, reliability and individual solutions – “Made in Germany”. The new group of companies now employs around 100 people and operates successfully both nationally and internationally.

Family business

Rist Transformatorenbau GmbH was firmly in family hands for over 70 years – founded and managed with great commitment by the Rist family. This long family tradition has shaped the company: through consistency, reliability and a close, partnership-based relationship with customers and employees.

With the takeover by ktc GmbH, Rist will remain a family-run company in the future. The Schiek family – now in its second generation with Maximilian Schiek – stands for continuity, responsibility and partnership with customers and employees.

Rist Transformatorenbau GmbH thus remains part of a strong, family-oriented group of companies that is committed to its customers, its values and the quality “Made in Germany” in the long term.
